Earthing Meditation

Our feature article on the Healing Gifts of Nature taught about the importance of connecting with nature. At Sanoviv, Earthing is a daily therapy and is an important part of health and healing. It is based on the discovery that connecting to the Earth's natural energy is the foundation of vibrant health. Why? Your body functions electrically; the heart and nervous system are good examples. Since the Earth is an electrical planet5 and we are electrical beings, the synergy is important for optimal human physiological function.

Earthing (also called grounding) refers to direct contact with the ground or other earth elements. It's a way of bathing in the Earth's electrons and receiving an energy infusion from Mother Earth. Dr. Steven Sinatra, an integrative cardiologist and Sanoviv guest, calls it vitamin G - for ground. Just as important as vitamin D is from sunshine, so is vitamin G from the earth. Earthing can restore and stabilize bioelectrical circuits in your body, improve self-healing mechanisms, reduce inflammation and pain, restore restful sleep, and promote a sense of calmness. Earthing can also reduce the clumping of blood cells, something our technicians can see during a microscopic blood analysis.

At Sanoviv, our guests ground themselves daily by sitting or walking barefoot in the grass, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Not only does the grass provide benefit, but the ocean air also infuses beneficial Earth elements into the body. Walking barefoot on our natural stone path is another way to ground during the day. Some guests choose to explore our organic garden, touching the leaves and plants that they will soon consume. Others take a dip in our chlorine-free pools to connect with the water element. Earthing therapy is essential to comprehensive health and healing.
